Pello Esnal, the author of this book, is from Andoain and lives in Zarautz. He started teaching at a young age and is currently the head of the Basque language department at HABE. A skilled bertso-performer. He has won eight awards in poetry competitions. He has two other books published before this one in the children's literature category: MALKOS (Bilintx Award, 1989) and ZAZPI KOLORE DITU OZTADARRAK (Lizardi Award, 1990).
