
Mariasun Landa's AMETS UHINAK was published for the first time in the Sor series in 1981 with illustrations by Txiki Ayestaran. Later in 1998 the book was republished in Xaguxar series with new illustrations by Jesus Lucas.

Mariasun Landa is one of the most famous Basque writers in Children's and Youth Literature. She has a degree in Philosophy and currently lives and works in Donostia: she is a teacher at the Teachers' School. In 1982 she won the Lizardi Prize for her book TXAN FANTASMA which later became very popular. In 1991 she received the Euskadi Prize for Children's Literature for her book ALEX. She has published more than twenty books and her work has been translated into many languages: Catalan, Spanish, Galician, French, German, English... AMETS UHINAK is a collection of stories written with great imagination and vitality. Some are fantastic and others are more related to reality. Most of them feature children as the protagonists. There are many adventures and incidents among them.
